Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Primer

It has taken me so long to write about this product. I have had it for such a long time but never really loved it, then I fell in love with it for a different reason. Before I share that reason with you, I want to give you some information on the product itself…

This long-awaited addition to our legendary collection of Photo Finish primers adds just the right amount of luminosity. The velvety, oil-free formula helps fill in fine lines and pores with age-fighting antioxidants, such as green tea, grape seed extract and vitamins A, C and E. And, of course, it keeps makeup looking fresher, better!

I was always looking at whether or not it made my pores look better or  if it helped my make up last longer,  for me it did neither of those things so I just popped it in the drawer and forgot about it! I was having a clear out recently and decided to re-try all those products I wasn’t really ‘fussed’ on before. The reason I am so in love with it now is because firstly, I wasn’t expecting it to work miracles and secondly, my skin is much more tanned now than the first time I tried it!

If I’m completely honest I don’t think its a great primer, it doesn’t help my make up last any longer and because of the pearly finish it does absolutely nothing in the pore department! But just using it as a luminizer and forgetting everything else I love it! I use it under my current favourite BB Cream (Maybelline Dream Fresh BB) and it makes my skin look absolutely gorgeous and glowing. I would offer one piece of advice, don’t use too much, if you do people will need sunglasses to look at you once the light catches your face!

I wouldn’t use this when I’m without a tan ( I look a little bit like casper the friendly ghost) because the finish is a gold copper tone and I just don’t think it looks good on me.

You could wear this alone or under foundation like I do, but again if you do wear this alone, use sparingly! I use the Real Techniques stippling brush to apply.

The packaging is great, very handy for travelling and I love the squeezy tube it’s easier to control how much product you are getting.

I’m so glad I decided to try it out again, it’s definitely going to stay in my make up bag for the warmer months

xoxo

I already glow enough as it is (oily like a butter stick, me) but for dull skin this is a great little primer.

I don’t know.. it looks so dark on the tube, and I’m very pale.. I never tan, so this probably wouldn’t suit me. I do like luminizing primers, though! I love the one from MAC and a pink toned one from Benefit.
